Go from the busy coastal town of Negombo to the misty hills of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, and then relax on the beaches of Bentota. This plan gives you a sample of what the island offers. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, your chauffeur-guide will greet you and escort you to Negombo, a charming fishing town just a short drive away. Negombo, known for its golden beaches, lagoon, and lively fish market, is a great place to relax after your travels. You can spend the afternoon relaxing by the sea or walking along the beach and enjoying the ocean breeze. We will stay overnight in Negombo.
After breakfast, explore the lively Negombo Fish Market where the day’s fresh catch is sold amidst a burst of colors and sounds. Carry on to Kandy, and be sure to drop by the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. There, you can see elephants that have been saved as they are bathing and being fed. Later in the day, there will be a cultural dance show where you can see traditional music and Kandyan outfits. You will stay in Kandy that night.
Start your day with a visit to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist site. Then travel through winding roads and lush tea plantations to reach the hill station of Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England” for its colonial charm. Visit a tea plantation to witness the tea-making process and end the day by the serene Gregory Lake. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, descend from the cool hills to Bentota’s sun soaked shores. Take a day to relax on the beach. You can enjoy water sports or just enjoy the view. The calm atmosphere is a nice break from seeing the sights. We’ll spend the night in Bentota.
